When in Rome
It’s been a week since our departure to Rome, and boy that was one epic trip! So many things happened, so many things were seen, and there were lifetime experiences that were priceless.

I got so comfortable with the German culture that I was put straight into culture shock when I got to Italy! The people and manners there are immensely different! People are more loud and sleazy in Italy lol. Italian men make me sick to the stomach now. Knowing there are such vile standards for people in this world is disappointing lol. But it’s all about learning, right?? Lol.
So we saw sooo many ancient monuments and works of art! My favourite things were the Trevi Fountain, the Sistine Chapel, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum!! Everything was so beautiful and it amazes me how people thousands of years ago can create such marvelous works!
There were many mishaps during the trip. I was pretty stressed out a lot of the time because I felt a lot of pressure in all the planning of the trip. No one made an effort to help me with anything unless I directly asked them. I was basically in control and had to tell everyone where to go and they were my ducklings that followed. Note: it was me, one other girl, and 3 boys. I mean I feel accomplished that I planned a whole trip in another country, but it made me realize what kind of people I want in my life and especially who to travel with.
Also, I was left behind at the Vatican, and I felt that the most logical thing to do would be to find me and make sure I was okay. And the only place they would find me would be back at the hotel. They never went back to find me, they just continued their day roaming Rome. So the only full day we had there, I spent the entire afternoon exploring Rome by myself. I was smart enough to be on my own, but the fact that no one really CARED where I was the rest of the day and didn’t make any effort was very hurtful. The guys didn’t even ask me about it the next day… for all they knew I could have been drugged and raped. But again, I learned from this experience.
Overall, I am very blessed for this trip. I’m glad I traveled safely. And would I have thought that I would be able to travel to this ancient city so early in my life. I’ve taken a lot in this trip and I’m looking forward to our trip to PARIS in a month!
