Study trip in East Germany

Alrighty, I’m finally finding time to fully update my past weekends! So our study trip to Eisenach and Leipzig was sooo much fun!!!
On the first morning, we had to be ready to leave at 6:30am. We set our alarms at 5:30am and some how didn’t hear BOTH of our alarms, so we didn’t wake up until 6:17am!! :o!!!! But we managed to rush and get to the bus stop on time! Yvonne met up with us on the train when we stopped at Ladenburg! So we took 2 trains and after about 4 hours, we got to Eisenach! We had vans rented out to take us to our hostel, where we set our stuff down and then we went back in the vans and had lunch in the old town part of Eisenach. Food was delicious as usual. Then we went to the Wartburg castle, where Martin Luther lived! We had a guided tour and even saw a Bible handwritten by Mr. Luther himself :D Afterwards, we walked around Eisenach and saw that they were setting up for a festival in a few days! They were going to celebrate welcoming Spring! (There are always festivals here in Germany!) Anyways, they had bumper cars!! So then Yvonne had us play! :D YAY!! That was soo much fun. I felt like a kid again, and I haven’t felt like that in SO long. We all had so much fun, then we went to a café nearby to warm up : ) Then we went to the Bach museum! Learned loads on Bach and listened to his music! Then we the rest of the night free. So we went shopping for a bit, then about 10 of us went to a Chinese buffet! WOW that was even MORE fun than the bumper cars. We played Chubby Bunny with lychee and peaches!! I haven’t laughed so hard in so long! It was such a great time. The fun doesn’t stop there! We got back to our hostel, and then we played ping pong!! We first tried to play around the world ping pong, but we kind of sucked all together lol. However, me and Jonathan were finalists both times in the full games. But then we did teams and played winners. Me and Allison dominated Jonathan and Brandon once, which felt AWESOME. Then we went downstairs to the other game room and played fußball and cards :D Then bed time eventually.
Me and Allison had a 5-person room with our own bathroom to ourselves - awesome. We had breakfast at the hostel, which was delicious. I tried liverwurst and the bread rolls were the best bread rolls I’ve had in my life. I ate 5 of them… lol. Then we got to the train station and had a 2 hour train ride over to Leipzig! When we got there, we got situated at our hostel then had lunch! Then we took a quick tour of the town before we saw the Thomaschor sing. Then we went shopping for a bit before dinner time! Then we saw a Romeo and Juliet ballet!! It was my very first ballet! It was so awesome!! I’m really excited to see our next ballet in Austria this week! So after the ballet, we walked back to the hostel and got ice cream on the way :D And me and Jasen were dancing down the streets, trying to do our own ballet moves ( : Then some of us wanted to go out, especially when there was a free club right across the street from where we were staying. The lights were flashing and the flames were burning, so we went out! It was pretty fun actually. Didn’t expect to experience the nightlife in Leipzig, but we sure did! We didn’t get to bed until 4am :\
Ohh… waking up the next morning was not my favourite lol. After breakfast, we went to a Stazi museum! It was soo very interesting! Out of all the musical things we did this whole weekend, I found the Stazi museum the most interesting :\ haha. But it really was, I want to learn more about it now. All the people who went out the night before were pretty much dead throughout the tour, but it was still very informative! Afterwards, we walked to the Mendelssohn museum! On the way there, we past a theatre or a playhouse where there was a performance, and there were glass windows looking outside. The people were waiting to go see their performance, so they were standing at the windows, looking outside. We were standing outside in front of them and we started to get their attention because we wanted to be in there too haha. So we had Jasen do all his ballet moves, and they were all clapping and waving! Hahah and a lady even requested a specific move for him to do again haha! Then Brian did the moonwalk! And everyone was watching and waving! Omg it was sooo funnyy… I was just thinking, “When does this ever happen??” It was really one of those “in the moment” types of things in life. It was so great. Anyways, after the Mendelssohn tour, we had a delicious Italian dinner! Then we headed to the train station for a very long 6 hour train ride home to Heidelberg! Our train ride got delayed because there was a man stuck on the track and they had to force him off :\ Yvonne gave us baked goods those, and Liz also got us berliners.
It was such an amazing trip. I had so much fun with all the people here, more than I ever have! I really felt us bonding and accepting each other : ) And when that happens, we have so much fun. I also really appreciate Yvonne. She is the most fun person to go on a trip with! She is so nice, funny, and welcoming to everyone. I’m really gonna miss her this week when we go to Salsburg and Vienna!
