Paris and Justine’s in town!

So last week was so incredible. I can’t believe it was only last week. I feel like it was so long ago. So much happened!

We started our Spirituality Seminars with Dr. Schwarz and also… JUSTINE is in town!!! We flew into Heidelberg on that Wednesday morning, St. Patty’s day!! YAY! It is so great to have a friend from back home to visit me and someone I can show around so they can see what I’m experiencing! We went to the Dubliner to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, and we met some cool people : ) A Brits and a Canadian lol.

The next day, we had a field trip in German class! Because Justine was visiting, we went up to the old ruins in Heiligenberg! We overlooked Heidelberg and explored old Roman ruins. We also went to an amphitheater built for the youth rally’s for the Nazi’s! So epic. Then me, Justine, and Jonathan biked around Heidelberg for her to pick up her lost wallet :P lol. Then I took Justine up to the Heidelberg castle and the Old Bridge. We met another guy from the Uni : ) Then I took her to Chocolate Yilliy, my fave hot chocolate place. Then we went to the Thai place for dinner and also a bakery and the kebab place. Then we packed for PARIS!!!

Allison woke up at 4:50am for Paris!! So me, her, and Justine got to the train station 15 minutes early for the train to come at 6:15am. Then we finally saw the rest of the crew running to our platform, minus one person :\ The train came and we got on, but Brandon never made it… that was sad. Well after the 2 1/2 hour train ride, we got to Paris! :o! We were really excited. We had a little hold up, trying to figure out the metro system lol. Then we got to our hostel, St. Christopher’s. It was reallyyyy legit!! There was a really nice bar downstairs, and all the workers at the hostel were really nice! They were all from like Australia or England, which was interesting lol. After setting our stuff down, we went to the Eiffel Tower!! :D It was AMAZING. Even bigger than I imagined it. Then we took a walking tour and went to Notre Dame! We went inside the church, then climbed all the way to the TOP!!! All those spiral staircases upp.. and downn… Man, it was a lot lol. But so worth it! Then me, Allison, and Justine hung out while the rest went into another church. We think we witnessed a drug/mob deal happen lol. Sketchy Paris. Then we went to the Louvre!! Yay!! That museum was so amazing. Ah. I’m so glad I took AP Euro, so I knew just how epic some pieces of works were. And yes, I saw the Mona Lisa. So after that, we went back to the hostel! We had dinner at the bar downstairs at like 10:30pm lol. It was a late dinner. Then we rested up for the next day!!!

Yay good morning Paris!! Free breakfast for course at the hostel : ) Then me and Justine had the afternoon together, while the rest went to Euro Disneyland lol. We went to the flea market at the edge of town. Oh boy it was sketchy over there! Lol. I was happy to get in the more touristy part of town where the shopping center was lol. Then we had crépes at the Bastille! Then we met up with the rest of the crew for our fancy dinner in Paris : ) We went to this place that specialized in ducks lol. We were going to get this 6-course meal, but we weren’t gonna have the wine so it wasn’t gonna be worth paying all those Euros. But I just got a duck dish, and it was the most delicious duck that I’ve ever had : ) Then after that, me, Allison, Jonathan, and Justine went to the Eiffel Tower at night!! It was soo beautiful!! All lit up! And we went up it… by foot! Hahaha yes. We didn’t take the elevators, partially because none of us could speak French lol. It was midnight, the tower was strobbing, and the rain was pouring while we were in it! It was magical <3 We were the very last people walking down the tower, really haha. It was a great night.

The last day in Paris! We went to Versailles!!! I was soo looking forward to visiting this palace : ) It was even more amazing than I imagined. It’s so epic to know the past of Louis XIV and Marie Antionette… and I’m not surprised that all the money of France went into this place. Ah, sometimes I really like history haha. Anyways, I really loved Versailles. It was ridiculously royal and golden everywhere. Plus, I’m very thankful that I am an EU citizen, so that I got in free : ) Afterwards! We shopped for souvenirs!! Eventually, it was time to get back on the train and go back to Germany.

We were pretty much ready to go back though. Like last trip, we missed Germany (even Justine!). The touristy cities, aren’t the best, but still worth visiting. The people in Paris were even more vile than the people in Rome actually. But oh wellsies!

Justine was here for only one more day after that! : ( We went shopping down the Haupstraße on our last night. And had a last dinner at the Dubliner and got ice cream afterwards : ) Me and Allison missed her so much after she left : ( It was a great few days. So much traveling and memories made.
